Gunstoppable Dusk
The late-campaign capitalist named in Patch 29's health pass — thicker, not a new moveset PDF.
Dusk is a named Gunstoppable boss called out in Patch 29: Combat Balancing. CAGE increased Dusk’s health by 35% in the same pass that thickened Vex/Vox and cut Fluffy Prime. That is the entire official mechanical sentence. This guide does not invent a six-phase script, a weak-point chart, or a fake “Dusk slam on 0:17.” It tells you how to prepare for a late-campaign executive after two weeks of live patches, and where that fight sits next to the final boss damage +25% from Patch 28.
If your HUD or Kane banter names Dusk, you are past the teaching gates. Fluffy already tested elevation. Johnny Jetpack already tested vertical tracking. Vex and Vox already tested a paired Act 3 spike. Dusk is the thicker late exam: more HP, same momentum rules, current life-steal math.
Confirmed numbers (Steam news)
| Patch | Dusk / finale context |
|---|---|
| Patch 28 | Final boss damage +25%. Act 3 (Vex/Vox) damage +50%. Life steal replaces life-on-hit and works on radial hits. Pickup radius 60→100. |
| Patch 29 | Dusk health +35%. Vex/Vox health +30%. Fluffy Prime health −35%. Life steal % −50% with min 1 HP/hit, no steal through shields/armor. |
Those rows are why a launch-week clip of a two-minute Dusk kill is not a skill check anymore — it is a different HP pool. Re-learn the length of the fight, not a YouTube timestamp.
How to think about a 35% health bump
A thicker boss changes resource math more than it changes “the one true gun”:
- Ammunition and reload stagger matter more. Dual-wield both hands empty in a long phase and Patch 28’s damage buff (if you are also on the finale) deletes you.
- Life steal is weaker as a percent but more honest: minimum 1 HP per connecting hit, and armor/shield blocks it. Do not stand in a shielded window expecting a shotgun to refund the phase.
- Kane restore health (Patch 29) is a legitimate pre-door buy. Launch players who skipped the shop for “just one more floor” now have a reason to stop.
- Reaper Mode still wants a named problem. A 35% longer health bar is a reason to save slow time for add overlaps or a readable slam — not to dump it on the first yellow flash.
Speed still multiplies damage, attack speed, and reload (Patch 26). Patch 29 removed extra attack/reload slowdown while idle, but idle still drops the speedometer. Dusk does not reward camping because the bar got bigger.
Loadout posture (not a tier gospel)
Bring the same two-job rule used on Vex/Vox:
- One hand that still works if a grapple misses
- One hand that solves a missing range, burst, or control problem
Patch 28–29 weapon notes that matter on a long fight:
- Rocket launcher reloads faster (2.6→2.2) — better for extended phases if you already know the self-knockback line
- Crossbow bolts fly flatter (gravity 1→0.6→0.5) with a small damage trim — tracking a late-campaign mover is easier, time-to-kill is not free
- Black Hole is wider and shorter (Black Hole Gun) — good for add control, worse as a lazy DPS well
- Shotgun gained a shell and lost pellet damage — closer than you think
- Katana/knife gained parry i-frames — useful if Dusk (or escorts) still publish melee tells
Weapons Tier List will lag a week behind Salaar watching streamers. Trust the card text in your current build.
Routing into Dusk
Use Campaign Walkthrough for act doors and Kane stops. Before the Dusk door specifically:
- Confirm Settings — Patch 28 deadzone, always-on crosshair, no Cloud settings sync after Patch 29.
- Spend Challenges unlocks you will actually fire, not every orb.
- Keep emergency currency for Kane’s heal.
- If you are pushing the finale the same run, remember Patch 28’s +25% final boss damage on top of Dusk’s HP. That is two different buffs.
Do not look for a redeem string. Codes are not a system.
Fluffy Prime versus Dusk
Patch 29 lowered Fluffy Prime health 35% while raising Dusk 35%. Early crab variants got kinder; the late named executive got meaner. If you are still dying on Fluffy Prime, read Robot Crab before grinding Dusk. If Fluffy is free and Dusk is a wall, that is the intended live curve, not a hidden nerf to your favorite pistol.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Gunstoppable questions.
Who is Dusk in Gunstoppable?
A named late-campaign boss. Patch 29 increased Dusk's health by 35%. CAGE has not published a full public moveset sheet.
Is Dusk the final boss?
Patch 28 buffed "final boss" damage by 25% as a separate line from Act 3. Treat Dusk as a late named gate and confirm the finale title in your own run.
Why does Dusk take longer than launch-week videos?
A 35% health increase plus weaker percent life steal (Patch 29) stretches the fight. Update your sustain plan; do not copy old kill times.
Should I buy Kane's heal before Dusk?
Usually yes. Patch 29 added restore health to the Black Market, which exists specifically for scraped late-act entries.
Did Fluffy Prime get easier while Dusk got harder?
In the same patch: Fluffy Prime health −35%, Dusk health +35%. Early crab variants eased; this late gate did not.
