Bosses Overview

Fenix’s revenge livestream cuts through robotic militia, drones, and winged assassins until the road reaches five capitalist bosses — war profiteers and executive villains who profit while the world burns. Each gate mixes bullet-hell pressure with a movement exam. This overview maps encounters spoiler-light so you can prep loadouts from the Tier List, Weapons, and Items sections without reading full phase scripts.

Gunstoppable launched on PC Steam August 5, 2026 with Xbox Series consoles August 31, 2026. Campaign structure is identical across platforms; performance headroom helps during Reaper Mode particle spam.

Campaign structure

Runs proceed through themed biomes — underwater prisons, neon cityscapes, orbital facilities — with shop stops at Kane the Rat between major floors. Boss arenas sit at biome exits. Defeating a gate unlocks the next executive’s territory and advances Fenix’s broadcast narrative voiced by cast including Gianni Matragrano and Neekolul.

Death resets the current run’s temporary augments but keeps permanent upgrades. Boss patterns, once learned, persist in player skill — the main roguelite carry.

Exact executive names vary in marketing satire (nepo babies, warmongers). Community guides align them as five capitalist bosses before the architect of Fenix’s creation falls.

Gate 1 — Giant robot crab

The crab robot is the poster child for Gunstoppable’s absurd scale — a walking artillery platform with missile racks and melee pincers. New players underestimate it visually, then learn arena geometry matters more than DPS.

Community tip from launch reviews: fight from high ground when possible. Missiles that arc across the arena may impact ceiling or upper geometry instead of your position, turning a bullet hell into manageable chip damage. Not a developer-documented exploit — a positioning read confirmed by multiple player reports.

Full fight breakdown: Robot Crab guide.

Gate 2 — Corporate enforcer

The second gate introduces denser add waves and narrower cover lanes in city environments. Black-hole crowd control and Reaper Mode detonations outperform single-target slow weapons. Recommended builds: Gravity Breaker or Flame Drift from the Builds Tier List.

Gate 3 — Johnny Jetpack

Marketing spotlights Johnny Jetpack as a fame-hungry aerial villain — jetpack bursts, taunts, and vertical patterns that punish ground-only loadouts. Swap to crossbows, rockets, or pistols with strong tracking. Details: Johnny Jetpack page.

Gate 4 — Warlord executive

Mid-campaign difficulty spike — shield segments, elite drone escorts, and longer bullet curtains. Pierce augments on crossbows and handguns shine. Ensure Kane purchases include reload or momentum perks before this gate.

Gate 5 — CEO approach

The final capitalist boss gate stacks mechanics from prior fights: elevation changes, add swarms, and shield rotations. Reaper Rush builds with max permanent upgrades remain community favorites. Step-by-step route: Campaign Walkthrough.

Universal boss fundamentals

Momentum never turns off

Stop sliding and damage collapses. Even when bosses taunt or cutscene, reposition immediately when control returns.

Dual-wield reload stagger

Never empty both magazines during a telegraphed volley. Alternate hands per Controls guidance.

Reaper Mode budgeting

Freeze during add spikes or burst windows — not during single weak shots. Kill chains built on trash mobs fund boss-phase Reaper.

Parry windows

Melee bosses and crab pincers expose parry frames. Katanas convert defense into momentum spikes.

Loadout planning checklist

  1. Pick dual-wield pair from Weapons Tier List.
  2. Confirm at least one range-safe weapon before Johnny Jetpack.
  3. Buy Kane utilities — see Kane the Rat.
  4. Roll run modifiers that boost movement if offered pre-boss.
  5. Watch Campaign Walkthrough video for visual timing.

Bosses are checkpoints for your movement skill. Fail fast, upgrade permanent power, return with faster hands.
